Callie Celebrates Your Bridal Moment In “Quartz” by Lian Rokman

By | Blog

The perfect day is a day that bride should never forget. A day in which every detail falls in place seamlessly. We are so lucky to celebrate Callie’s wedding day.

Callie walked in the "Quartz bridal gown" with a bouquet of white, yellow flowers as well as greenery

What was your process for selecting your bridal gown?

I remember trying on quite a few dresses. There were so many gorgeous gowns but the second I tried on my dress, I felt this indescribable feeling!
It was everything I wanted. It fit like it was made for me. It was so sparkly and beautiful and I felt magical in it. I didn’t want to take it off LOL

Can you share more information about your wedding experience during COVID?

My wedding experience was so beautiful. Our wedding ended up being something we planned in 30 days after getting the news that we’d finally be able to reunite after 7 long months of being separated in two different countries due to COVID and border closures.

As a COVID bride, I faced many challenges including having to push our original wedding date back and then canceling all those wedding plans and planning a whole new smaller, intimate wedding in a completely different place. Even having those obstacles, everything for our big day turned out so perfectly. I was so happy with how everything came together, especially with my wedding dress. I received so many compliments and I’ll forever be happy with my decision.

You survived a pandemic wedding and found your perfect gown. What are you focusing on today?

Today, my husband and I live in Bermuda with our 9 month old baby girl. After months apart during the height of the pandemic, we really cherish our time and enjoy every moment together.

Thank you Callie for sharing your story! If you have any questions about Callie’s gown or if you are a bride interested in sharing her wedding journey, please contact info@lianrokman.com

Nava Ghalili’s Poetic Bridal Journey

By | Blog

Lian Rokman is grateful to share Nava Ghalili and Blake Wuorenma journey from love to wedding day. Every bride has her own story and we celebrate those stories because they showcase diversity. Nava and Black’s story recants a tale of diversity, compassion, and familial importance. We wish them only beautiful moments in their journey together

Nava adorned with is sheer veil as she stands alongside her husband Blake on their wedding day. Behind Blake is a blurred background.

Not just a fairytale

We didn’t have a fairytale life prior to meeting each other. My book of love read a series of tragedies ending in heartbreak and Blake’s read a series of disappointments and hurts. I think I had given up on love a minute before I saw him. There he was at a resort in Mexico, smiling at me from across the room. We were both there for separate weddings, celebrating others’ loves. I stopped believing in love at first sight but when we spotted each other, smiled and laughed…we both knew this was different. A small-town Wisconsin boy and a wanderlust city girl.

She Planned Her Wedding In 2.5 Months

Blake moved from Wisconsin to where I was in California after a few months of dating! We dated for just a year before he bought me the rose gold diamond ring of my dreams, with every penny of his savings. And we knew we couldn’t wait to start our lives with each other. Everyone said it was impossible to plan a wedding in 2.5 months. But we did it. We did it gracefully, with hope and it turned out perfectly, just like our love.

Love is not exclusive to the bride and groom

It was so very important to Blake and I, that all our loved ones could feel our love and let our day further enrich their own love in their lives. Each guest received a rose gold key (the key to our hearts) and a handmade book of interfaith quotes and prayers on love and growth.

Love in the face of intolerance

We are Bahai’s so we believe in all Faiths and religions and found a way to incorporate ALL spiritual faiths in our ceremony of love, especially at a time when there is so much intolerance in the world.

My Bridal Look

I wore one of my favorite designers, Lian Rokman. I paired with my bridal gown  a pair of Valentino shoes reminiscent of a classic Cinderella look. I designed my own wedding cape instead of a veil to create a whimsical touch to our wedding day.  On the lace of my bouquet hung “something blue” in the form of a picture/pendent of Blake’s Grandparents who could not be there with us (given to me by his sister Jennifer). I also wore a handmade crystal and lace garter to showcase my support of women owned artisanal businesses on my wedding day.

Giving Back On Our Wedding Day

Since I was 13, I have advocated for both human rights and education of children since I was 13 years old. On our wedding day we decided to donate a portion of our proceeds to the Mona Foundation which provides scholarships to girls who need funding to attend school. Blake, is just as passionate about the equality between men and women, we worked hard to find a sentimental and beautiful way to walk down the aisle. We thought to support the boys Acapella group was a great way to show the importance of men singing in support of this sentiment of the education of women too.

Memorable Moments

We chose a menu of foods from around the world to celebrate our guests. We chose a rose gold cake…red velvet for my husband and pistachio with rose water for our Persian family

An incredible 11-piece jazz orchestra from Georgia played Frank Sinatra tunes into the night outside in our garden wedding reception. My dad stole the show with a personalized rendition of Frank Sinatra. Our favorite songs played while beautiful messages recorded by friends and family that could not attend played in the background.

Our Hope

Most importantly so many shared that they had never been to such a magical a wedding and it was because of the evidence of our deep love and sincere vows that we exchanged in the gardens.  Our friends said that after this wedding they felt they could believe in real love again…and that fairytales in some ways are possible.

We want our love to be proof that it’s possible to have all you ever dreamed of. We have strangers watching our wedding video from around the world and writing to us and telling us our love gives them hope.

Credit Where Credit is Due

Part of the journey is recognizing the details that led to our perfect day.
Wedding Location: Oheka Castle, New York
Dress: Lian Rokman I had only 2.5 months of engagement to find a dress…This stunning Lian Rokman dress was the first dress I ever tried on…it was one of my favorite bridal designers and I had no idea that the Bridal attendant at the store brought it to me. Both my mom and I knew it was the one the minute I put it on. I thought it can’t be that the first dress I try on I buy…so I tried on many others but nothing captured the innocence of our love and the unique details of our lives that this dress represented. It was so intricately laced and designed and since we were marrying in a garden…the florals on the dress felt perfect. So many said the dress was “so you”…and so beautiful unlike any they had ever seen.
Shoes: Valentino | Cape/Veil: I designed the cape myself! | Event Design: also myself. | Band: Equinox Jazz Orchestra travelled all the way from the Sweet South, Savannah Georgia, to play some Frank Sinatra for us outside the castle! | Acapella Choir for ceremony: Dukes of Yale University | Ceremony: In the Castle French Gardens under the Gazebo | Wedding favors: Handmade books filled with quotes and prayers on….”Love”…together with a rose gold key to the castle for our guests that flew from all over the world. | Reception: Outside under the fairy and bistro lights (The castle does not usually allow for outside receptions…but we made it happen) | Garter: Handmade Garter with crystals.

Deveen and Andrew Tie The Knot New Years Eve

By | Blog

Lian Rokman is excited to share Deveen’s bridal journey with the Lian Rokman community. Deveen purchased her Lian Rokman bridal gown from our partners in Michigan; Sposa Bella. Deveen looked absolutely stunning in the Lian Rokman Josephine gown an we are grateful that she picked us in her celebration.

Deveen wears the elegant Josephine gown: Off shoulder sleeves adorned with 3d petals. From the waist Deveen wears a tulle overskirt that gives a voluminous touch to her bridal look.

Timeline

Each bride has her own timeline. There is no bridal deadline in a relationship because birde finds your moment at a different stage in her life. It is organic. We wanted to learn from Deveen when she met her husband and when he proposed.

How long did you date before the proposal?

My husband and I were dating for about 2 years before he proposed on 7/11/21.

That Special Date

A tremendous amount of factors go into choosing a wedding date. Our brides have to think about the wedding venue, work schedules, family schedules, and Covid19.

Why did you choose a wedding on New Years Eve?

We decided we wanted to have a New Year’s Eve wedding to celebrate us and the new year with friends and family.

Sposa Bella

Deveen chose to work with Sposa Bella. This boutique is not only a long standing partner of Lian Rokman but also a boutique worth celebrating. Sposa Bella’s team is an inclusive collection of professionals that give every bride a priority experience.

Where did you choose your  gown?

I booked an appointment with Sposa Bella at the end of July and was told by a lot of people I could not get a dress in time so I was a little uneasy about finding a dress. The Josephine dress was the second dress I tried on and I felt absolutely beautiful in it. I had the biggest smile on my face and did not want to take the dress off. After getting my measurements in Nancy told me it would probably be here at the end of October and we would have plenty of time to alter if we needed to.

Ordering the gown

It is difficult to plan bridal gown orders during the pandemic. Lian Rokman prioritizes bridal orders with a rapid operations strategy to ensure that every bride receives her gown on time.

When did you receive your gown?

My dress and skirt came in much earlier than expected and I was so in awe of the dress.

How did you feel in your gown?

I have never felt so beautiful in anything before. The way the dress sparkled and the small details were so mesmerizing. I am beyond grateful for you and your team for my dress!

CRISTINA DUNCAN- A Panama Fairytale

By | Blog

Billie Genovese takes our breath away with her bridal photos. This gorgeous designer selected Lian Rokman to celebrate her wedding day.
What is her journey and why did she choose Lian Rokman Haute Couture?

Introduce Yourself:

My name is Cristina Duncan. I am 35 years old from Panama.I got married in January 12 2019 in Panama at the American Trade Hotel with a beautiful Pavo Dress

Why did you choose the Pavo Bridal Gown?

I purchased my dress at Gaudi Novias in Panama. I knew what I was looking for.I was 33 at the time so I wanted something elegant but sexy. My wedding took place during summer with a rooftop civil ceremony wedding following a ballroom reception.

I only tried on 2 dresses and I fell in love with Pavo right away.

At the store they gave me the option to modify it directly with Lian Rokmans team so they sent my dress and got it back a few months later exactly how i wanted it

 What is a beautiful moment?

My dream dress represented me and our wedding in every sense. Age, and style appropriate.  I was getting married at 33, bit “late” for our latin culture standards haha, I was officially becoming a stepmom of 4 beautiful children who I love with all my heart. During the ceremony I read out my vows to my husband and the children. It was a very emotional and special moment for everyone

Tell about where you are today:

Right now almost 3 years later I’m happily married and a mother of one beautiful baby boy

Why did you choose a Lian Rokman gown?

For my gown, I knew I wanted something unique that would incorporate multiple looks. I found exactly what I was looking for in my Lian Rokman gown! My mermaid gown has a long train and beautiful bell sleeves. I love the femininity the laces and off-white color lend the dress. Not only is it gorgeous, but it was so comfortable to wear

What can you share about your wedding experience?

My wedding experience was stressful! It was held in Los Angeles right after a huge fire had burned through the area, so everything was a bit charred. I stressed so much about my wedding day but, when I look back on it, I realize it has been one of the happiest moments of my life. I couldn’t be happier with the family my husband and I started creating that day

What piece of advice can you share with brides to be

I would like to share a couple of pieces of advice with brides-to-be: don’t settle on a dress – it’s one day to look and feel absolutely amazing! – and make sure to cherish your wedding day. It goes by so much more quickly than you think it will, so I would recommend simply enjoying it as it unfolds

Any bride will tell you that A-line wedding gowns are one of the most comfortable cuts for bridal gowns because these gowns are structures for both definition and flow of material. Who said that a bride does not need glam? Opal is the glam of all halter top bridal gowns. The top piece of this wedding gown is a composition of vibrant beading that opens into a deep neckline. From the hips, this gown opens into a voluminous skirt adorned with compiled laces.

Magnolia is an eclectic composition of decadent lace that forms an adorned halter neckline. From the hips, this empowering bridal gown showcases folds that give a touch of drama. Contact info@lianrokman.com to see this gown in person.

In reflection of the intricate journey that leads to the perfect day, Lian applied a combination of manually sewn detail with in the layers of intricate laces to highlight the distinct story of every bride-to-be.

Regal feel comes from the play of intricate lace and detail in this long sleeve form fitted top that contrasts to a beautiful a-line skirt.
