Pubs protected from noise complaints | news.com.au — Australia’s

Music venues and pubs in england and wales may benefit from fewer noise complaints under proposed changes to planning and licensing rules. If passed, changes to law will force developers seeking to build new properties near existing venues to soundproof buildings. The government hopes the changes will also make it easier to open new bars in disused shops, as well as promote outdoor drinking, al fresco dining and live performances. These changes are being implemented to prevent complaints to pubs and venues from people who live or work within earshot. The department has developed a model noise ordinance that can be adopted by local municipalities.
